Zinox Group Chairman Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh commissions ₦50m IT centre at FUBK

Chairman of Zinox Group and founder of Konga.com, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, commissions a ₦50 million state-of-the-art computer centre he personally donated to FUBK, complete with five years of internet connectivity.

In a significant boost for the technological capacity of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), Chairman of Zinox Group and Founder of Konga.com, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, has commissioned a ₦50 million state-of-the-art computer centre he personally donated to the Federal University Birnin Kebbi.

The commissioning ceremony, which held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the University's main campus, was performed by the National President of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, who represented Dr. Ekeh at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Aliyu described the donation as a generous gesture, emphasizing that the IT facility comes with five years of internet connectivity and is equipped with high-powered IT infrastructure.

He officially handed over the facility to the Vice-Chancellor of FUBK, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, highlighting Dr. Ekeh's unwavering commitment to the advancement of digital education in Nigeria.

Receiving the facility on behalf of the university, Prof. MZ Umar expressed profound appreciation to the renowned tech entrepreneur and philanthropist for his commitment to the development of education and technology. He noted that the ₦50 million donation would significantly strengthen the university's IT capabilities.

The Vice-Chancellor recalled his earlier engagement with Chief (Dr.) Ekeh in Lagos, alongside the University's Chancellor, His Royal Majesty Eze (Dr.) Cletus I. Ilomuanya, CON, the Obi of Obinugwu, where Dr. Ekeh had reaffirmed his resolve to support the university with essential digital resources.

Prof. Umar assured that the University would ensure the optimal utilization and security of the facility, and reaffirmed the institution's dedication to leveraging the infrastructure to benefit the entire university community.
