Research at FUBK is organised through faculty and departmental research committees, overseen by a University Research Grants Committee and coordinated by the Research Office.

Two organised research and development centres have been established at FUBK. Additional research units are constituted by Senate and Council as the University grows.

FUBK hosts four peer-reviewed journals covering the basic and applied sciences, geography and environment, business and management.
