The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has commended Nasir Idris for appointing Dr. Murtala Muhammad Dandare as the Executive Secretary of the Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KECHEMA).
In a statement by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Jamilu Magaji, the Vice-Chancellor described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that Dr. Dandare, a seasoned academic and former Head of the Department of Pharmacology at FUBK, has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and professional service.
He stated that the recognition of a FUBK scholar for such a strategic role reflects the university's growing reputation for producing competent and impactful leaders.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that Dr. Dandare would leverage his capacity by strengthening healthcare delivery and advancing the mandate of the agency in Kebbi State.
He further appreciated the Kebbi State Government for its continued support to the university and for creating opportunities for its staff to contribute meaningfully to public service. He urged the new KECHEMA helmsman to remain a good ambassador of the institution.
FUBK Bulletin reports that Dandare assumed duty on April 23, 2026, upon which he held separate introductory meetings with the agency's management team and the Governing Board.
He was, until his appointment, the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kebbi State chapter.
Dandare expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to enhance service delivery and consolidate on the achievements recorded by the agency.
