The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, has approved the appointment of Deans of Faculty, Directors and Heads of various Departments of the University. The appointments and reappointments were conveyed to the appointees in their appointment letters, signed by the Registrar, Barr. Abdulkadir Abubakar, and take effect from 25th June, 2025.
Among the new appointments, Prof. Muhammad Muazu Yusuf was named Dean of the Postgraduate School, with Prof. Yahaya Tajudden as Deputy Dean. Prof. Mohammed Tukur Dikko Zauro was appointed Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, while Prof. Sirajo Abdulrahman was appointed Dean, Faculty of Science.
Prof. Asabe Kabir Usman was reappointed Dean, Faculty of Arts, and Prof. U T Mohammad was reappointed Dean, Faculty of Education. Prof. Nasir Jinjiri Ismail was reappointed Provost, College of Health Sciences.
In the directorates, Prof. Kasimu Shehu was reappointed Director, Research, Innovation & Linkages; Prof. Kabiru Umar Jega was appointed Director, SIWES; Prof. Muhammad Bashar Danlami was reappointed Director, Examination & Registration; and Dr. Bashar Labaran was appointed Director, School of Basic Studies.
The exercise also covered a wide range of Heads of Department, including Ag. HODs for Economics, Sociology, Applied Geophysics, Mathematics & Statistics, Political Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Geography, Pure & Applied Chemistry, Business Administration, Building, Quantity Surveying and Geology.
