The humanitarian medical organization, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), conducted a blood donation awareness campaign at Federal University Birnin Kebbi on June 25, 2025. The event was aimed at encouraging voluntary blood donation among students and staff for the benefit of vulnerable groups in need of urgent medical support in the society.
The campaign witnessed a significant turnout of both staff and students who donated blood with the noble intention of saving lives. Many donors expressed their motivation as an act of charity and service to humanity.
According to the MSF team, the donated blood will be utilized to treat under-five children, pregnant women, and victims of road traffic accidents who are often in dire need of emergency blood transfusions.
The MSF team thanked the university authority for their warm reception and generosity, noting that every pint of blood donated had the potential to save a life. They appreciated the spirit of compassion and communal responsibility shown by the University community.
