MBBS, Nursing Science, 13 other FUBK courses secure full NUC accreditation

FUBK secures full accreditation status for 15 academic programmes — including Medicine and Surgery, Architecture and Nursing Science — from the National Universities Commission.

The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has secured full accreditation status for 15 academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The achievement marks a major milestone in the University's commitment to providing quality education and maintaining national academic standards, and it signifies that these programmes meet the NUC's required standards in terms of curriculum, staffing, infrastructure, and overall academic quality.

The programmes that secured full accreditation include Medicine and Surgery, Architecture, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Nursing Science.

Others are Biology Education, Business Education, Chemistry Education, Computer Science Education, Economics Education, Educational Administration and Planning, English Education, Geography Education, Physics Education and Mathematics Education.

The announcement was made in a letter signed by the Ag. Director of Accreditation of NUC, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu. The letter is a result of an accreditation exercise the Commission conducted in October/November, 2024 in Nigerian Universities, including Federal University Birnin Kebbi.

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, on behalf of the University community, expressed satisfaction with the results, noting that the accreditation reaffirms FUBK's growing academic reputation and dedication to excellence.

The VC attributed this success to the hard work and dedication of academic and administrative staff and appreciated the support of the University community. He stressed that FUBK would remain focused on building a strong and reputable University that meets global standards.
