The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has received a three-man panel from the Federal Ministry of Education to evaluate the implementation of the White Paper recommendations from the university's previous visitation panel report.
The panel, led by Dr. Nte Bisong, was on campus from Monday, June 15 to Wednesday, June 17, 2025, for the assessment exercise. Other members of the team included Mrs. Ejiogu Rita and Mal. Umar Halilu, who served as the panel's Secretary.
Speaking during a courtesy meeting with the panel at the University Council Chamber, the Vice-Chancellor of FUBK, Professor M.Z. Umar, welcomed the delegation and described the exercise as a positive development for the Nigerian university system.
Professor Umar expressed appreciation to the panel for their visit and emphasized the university's awareness of the consequences of non-compliance with the White Paper directives. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, for initiating the evaluation process to ensure adherence to the recommendations of the visitation panel.
In his remarks, the panel leader, Dr. Nte Bisong, explained that their assignment was to assess the level of compliance with the White Paper's directives. He noted that the evaluation focused on key operational areas, particularly the institution's budgetary management, using a standardized assessment template developed for the exercise.
The visit marks an important step in ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in the governance and administration of the university.
