The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) on Thursday, 19th June 2025, played host to staff of the Nigerian Correctional Training Centre, Birnin Kebbi, who were on an educational excursion tour to the University. The delegation was received and conducted around the University by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aliyu A. Turaki, alongside the Public Relations Officer FUBK, Malam Jamilu Magaji.
During the tour, the team visited the laboratories of the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Human Anatomy. At each stop, the visitors were given detailed briefings by laboratory personnel, who highlighted the University's commitment to hands-on, research-driven learning and innovation in the sciences.
Prof. Turaki, while addressing the team, emphasized the University's mission to foster academic excellence, research development, and societal engagement. He described the visit as a step towards building synergy between academic institutions and public service organizations.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Birnin Kebbi Centre, ASC AB David, who led the tourists, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and insightful tour. He lauded the University for its rapidly developing infrastructure and the professionalism exhibited by its staff.
FUBK Bulletin reports that the visit, which is part of the Correctional Training Centre's curriculum enrichment and exposure strategy, aims to foster collaboration and mutual understanding between academic and correctional institutions in the state. The event concluded with a group photograph and a note of goodwill exchanged between both institutions.
