FUBK Governing Council holds 33rd meeting, approves promotion of 1 Professor, 4 Readers

Council, led by Pro-Chancellor Col. Abdulmumini Aminu (Rtd.), elevates Dr. Ologe Oluwatoyin to Professor of Exploration Geophysics and four academics to the rank of Reader.

FUBK Governing Council holds 33rd meeting, approves promotion of 1 Professor, 4 Readers

The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Col. Abdulmumini Aminu (Rtd.), has approved the promotion of five academic staff to the ranks of Professor and Reader.

The approval was granted at the Council's 33rd Meeting held on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, following the recommendations of the External Assessors and the Senior Staff Appointments and Promotions Committee.

Dr. Ologe Oluwatoyin of the Department of Applied Geophysics has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Exploration Geophysics.

The four staff promoted to the rank of Reader are Dr. Sa'adu Umar Wali of the Department of Geography, who is now a Reader in Ground Water Hydrology; and Dr. Danyaya Muhammad Shehu of the Department of History and International Studies, Reader in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Also promoted to the rank of Reader are Dr. Saratu Muhammad Mera of the Department of Educational Foundations, Reader in Educational Management; and Dr. Nensok Hassan Mohammed of the Department of Building, Reader in Materials & Structures (Construction Technology).

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, on behalf of the Council, congratulates the newly promoted Professor and Readers and wishes them continued success in their academic and professional endeavours.
