FUBK Management condoles family of late Prof. Umar Tuni Mohammed

The Vice-Chancellor leads a condolence visit to the family of the late Dean, Faculty of Education, describing him as a father, mentor and exceptional scholar who laid the foundation for the Faculty at FUBK.

The Management of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Umar Tuni Mohammed, to commiserate with them over his passing.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice-Chancellor described the late professor as a father, mentor and exceptional scholar whose life was devoted to the advancement of education and the development of humanity.

Prof. Zaiyan said the late Prof. Umar Tuni Mohammed was instrumental in laying the foundation for the Faculty of Education at FUBK, noting that his vision, commitment and leadership were central to the growth of the faculty.

He also recalled the deceased's remarkable contributions to the development of the Faculty of Education at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, where he played a significant role in shaping teacher education and mentoring generations of academics and education professionals.

The VC added that the University has lost not just a distinguished academic, but a father, a mentor and a pillar whose wisdom, humility and dedication inspired colleagues, students and the entire university community.

He prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, colleagues and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding, the family expressed appreciation to the University Management for the visit and the support extended to the family, describing the gesture as a great source of comfort.

FUBK Bulletin reports that the late Prof. Umar Tuni Mohammed was widely respected for his outstanding contributions to teaching, research and academic leadership. He played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of the Faculty of Education at FUBK.

Until his death, he served as a member of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), reflecting his immense contribution to educational development in the region.

His lasting legacy, particularly in the establishment and development of the Faculty of Education at FUBK, will continue to inspire future generations of scholars within and outside the country.
