FUBK condoles former Pro-Chancellor over husband's passing

In a letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor, the University commiserates with Prof. Funmi Togonu-Bickersteth on the death of her husband, Engr. Lanre Gilbert Togonu-Bickersteth, who passed away on June 16.

The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has commiserated with the former Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the Governing Council, Prof. Funmi Togonu-Bickersteth on the passing away of her husband, Engr. Lanre Gilbert Togonu-Bickersteth.

The condolence was conveyed in a letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor described the death of Engr. Togonu-Bickersteth, who passed away on June 16, as a painful loss and expressed the University's heartfelt sympathy to Prof. Togonu-Bickersteth and her family during the period of mourning.

He recalled her remarkable leadership and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of FUBK during her tenure as Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the Governing Council, assuring her of the University's solidarity and support.

The VC also prayed to Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort the bereaved family with the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
