KEBBI GOVERNOR DONATES 36-SEATER BUS TO FUBK, MOTORCYCLE TO PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENT
The Kebbi State Governor, H.E. Comrade (Dr.). Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) has announced the donation of 36-seater bus to aid students’ transportation in the University. The Governor, in his speech at the maiden convocation ceremony of the University October 12, 2024 made the generous donation, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting education in the state.
The gesture is expected to enhance the university’s transportation system, facilitating easier movement for students and staff. This benevolence aligns with the state government’s focus on improving educational infrastructure and providing a conducive learning environment.
In another development, the Governor has donated a motor cycle to ABDULHAKIM Abubakar Suru, a student with special needs from the Faculty of Education at FUBK. The student, prior to the incident, relied on a wheelchair for mobility to undergo his degree programme. FUBK Bulletin reports that the State Government has also pledged to employ the student as a teacher, in recognition of his qualification as holder of the National Certificate on Education. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Alh. Shafi’u Abubakar Zauro, who disclosed this, conveyed the acknowledgement of Governor Nasir Idris, that ‘there is ability in disability’.
