FUBK Held a Workshop to Academic Staff on how to Apply TetFund National Research Fund (NRF) grant
Federal University Birnin Kebbi has on Tuesday 29th August, 2024 held a workshop to academic staff on how to apply TetFund National Research Fund (NRF) grant. The workshop which was convened by the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development was held at the Bioscience Research Institute, Main Campus.
The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar who declared the workshop open,said the workshop would assist in developing the capacity of staff of the University to develop, prepare and submit quality research proposals to funding organisations.
The VC who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Professor Aliyu Abdullahi Turaki, said FUBK has been undergoing transformations in terms of its structures, number and quality of research projects, as well as engagement with development partners.
The Vice Chancellor added that the development research based policies and the establishment of multi-disciplinary research centres is a response to this initiative. He further expressed the hope that the participants would come out more informed and be able to successfully write good and qualitative proposals for competitive grant.
FUBK Bulletin reports that the participants were taken through the steps of writing a successful grant proposal. Topics like how to write a successful grant proposal, structure of grant proposal, why proposal fail, Review process, what reviewers was looking for, budgeting, referencing and research output were critically discussed.
