FUBK INSTALLED SOLAR: LIGHTS UP LEARNING ON CAMPUS
As Universities increasingly embrace solar energy, staff and students of Federal University Birnin Kebbi are reaping the benefits and achieving higher for the development of academic and administrative activities of the University.
The University Management, under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, made the giant stride in providing solar in the University for quality service delivery.
Many places in the University, such as the ICT, University Library, Physical Planning and Development (PP&D), the Senate Building where main administrative activities takes place and some other places like streets in the campus, were provided with constant solar powered electricity.
FUBK Bulletin reports that, Staff and Students of the University were seen expressing their happiness with the development. Mohammed Mohammed, a four hundred level student in the Department of Computer Science, said “Fortunately, things have improved since the time FUBK embraced green technology. Now, the campus is powered by solar panels, which provides reliable and sustainable energy source, even at night.
“It has significantly contributed to my academic progress because with lectures filling the morning and afternoon, the evening and night hours became the ideal time for me to focus on studying and completing assignments” Mohammed told FUBK Bulletin reporter.
