KEBBI GOVERNOR DONATES 36-SEATER BUS TO FUBK, MOTORCYCLE TO PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENT
The Kebbi State Governor, H.E. Comrade (Dr.). Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) has announced the donation of 36-seater bus to aid students' transportation in the University. The Governor, in his speech at the maiden convocation ceremony of the University October 12, 2024 made the generous donation, reaffirming his administration's commitment to supporting education in the state.
CONVOCATION: VC SEEKS SUPPORT FOR FENCING THE UNIVERSITY, TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
The Vice Chancellor Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Prof. Muhammad Ziayan Umar has said that the unfenced land at the main campus of the University tops challenges being faced by the institution. He made the disclosure during the maiden combined 1st to 5th convocation ceremony October 12, 2024.
NIGERIA CAN BE BETTER JETTISONING FOREIGN CULTURES – DON
The Dean Faculty of Arts, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Abubakar Aliyu Liman, has advocated the adoption of African cultures and indigenous ideals as best solutions to all Nigerian and African problems instead of seeking for foreign interventions. He stated this while delivering his paper, titled, “As the Past Hunts the Future: Literature, Popular Culture and the Cultural Logic of Digital Humanities”, at a maiden International Conference organized by Literary Scholars Association (LSA), hosted by Federal University Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday October 29, 2024.
148 BAG FIRST CLASS AS FUBK GRADUATES 3,373
The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has produced 148 first class students out of 3,373 that graduated from the University in the last five years. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar disclosed this during the conferment of various degrees to the graduates as part of activities marking the maiden (combined) 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th convocation ceremony of the University held from 9th to 12th October, 2024. According to the VC, the 3,373 graduands were to receive various Bachelor's degree programmes having been found worthy in both character and learning. He highlighted that 1,122 would receive Second Class Upper while 2,034 students would receive Second Class Lower and 69 students graduated with Third Class. He added that students would receive various prizes for their excellent performance in their chosen disciplines.
