CONVOCATION: FUBK Best Graduating Students Go Home With Cash Prizes, Certificates of Merit
It was celebration galore as the students of Federal University Birnin Kebbi that graduated First Class Honours in the last five years have received cash prizes at the just concluded 1st-5th convocation ceremony.
The beneficiary students include the overall best graduating students in each session and best graduating student in faculties and departments. These prizes were donated to the students by the Vice Chancellor, Deans and Heads of Department as well as corporate organizations.
For instance, best all-round graduating students for the 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions received the Vice Chancellor’s cash prize of N50,000 each.
Similarly, best graduating students in Architecture received A.A. Maidoya Construction Company Limited’s cash prize of N40,000 each. Also, Gimang Enterprises Limited’s N40,000 prize goes to the best graduating student in Business Administration for the 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions, while the best graduating students of Building for the 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions got home with N40,000 each donated by Samunaka Modern Furniture Factory Limited.
Meanwhile, Prof. Asabe Kabir Usman’s prize of N20,000 each was given to the best graduating students in English Language for the 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions. Prof. MDA Bunza’s prize of N10,000 each was given to the best graduating students in Biology for the 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions.
Furthermore, Prof. Abdullahi Garba Kangiwa’s prize of N10,000 each was for the best graduating students in Sociology for 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions. Prof. Alexander Selemo’s prize of N10,000 each went to the best graduating students in Applied Geophysics for the 2017,2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Sessions, while Dr. Mohammed Bashar Danlami’s prize of N25,000 was donated to the best all—round student in Microbiology across the sessions. FUBK Bulletin reports that all the all-round best graduating students were privileged to exchange pleasantries with the Chancellor for their outstanding performances, while the certificates of merit were issued to them by the University through the Student Affairs Division and their respective Departments.
