About Me

Rilwanu Usman Argungu, CNA, CPA, MTMN is one of the founding fathers of Federal University Birnin Kebbi. Before his appointment, he served as Acting Bursar of the University since inception .

Born on 12th April, 1967 in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, he attended Dankoji Primary School Argungu and Ahmadu Bello Academy Farfaru, Sokoto from 1974 to 1980 and 1980 to 1985, respectively.

He had his National Diploma (Accounting) and HND (Accounting)from the Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi in 1988 and 1995 respectively; Intermediate Certificate in Computer Data Processing from Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara (1996); Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (1997); Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (2000); Diploma in Computer Studies from Netcom Computer Academy Sokoto (2001); and Bsc. Ed, Business Education from Usmanu Danfodiyo, Sokoto.

Having garnered lots of experience from National Directorate of Employment where he started as an Executive Officer (Accountant) and rose through the ranks to be come a Senior Finance Officer (1989-2002), Mal. Rilwanu Joined the services of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto in the Bursary Department in July, 2002. He was a Principal Accountant and Head of Advances Section, Contract and Services Unit in July, 2002; Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Accountant) in Oct., 2005; Chief Account in Oct., 2008; and Deputy Bursar and Head Treasury Division in Oct; 2012 to March, 2014.

Mal. Rilwanu’s Professional Qualification include: Associate Member, Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Nigeria (ICPAN, 2006) Full member Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria (CITM, 2011) and Associate Member, Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN, 2012).

Mal. Rilwanu has made significant contributions to the development of Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto as an active member of Many University committees including among others. Task Force on 2002/2003 Financial Accounts; Task Force on Compilation of Outstanding loans of former University Staff; Member Technical Committee on Distance Learning Education; Task Force on Assessment of Hostel Accommodation in the University; Junior Staff Promotion Committee, Digital ID Card Management Committee; Committee on Guidelines of Student Catering Services; Monitoring Committee on Student Catering Service; Committee on Extension of Postgraduate School; Committee on Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University (SSANU) Bye Laws UDUS Branch; Committee of SSANU Liaison Officers and Liaison office Bursary/Registry Departments; Member Administrative Services Appointment and Promotion Committee (ASAPC); Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee; IBB Centre and Staff Common Rooms Management Committee; Strategic Planning Committee; Member Pension Board of Trustees; Committee for the implementation of Generic Guidelines for the reforms of Parastatals; UDUS /STEP B Project Team (World Bank Assisted Project); Task force Committee on Student Registration Exercise; Committee for Study of the Report of University Visitation Panel; Committee for the Disbursement of Earned Allowances; Centre of Excellence of Renewable Energy Research & Development; UDUS Information and Communication Technology Management Committee and University Virtual Library Committee. He also attended several conferences and workshops both at National and International levels. He was in Sierra Leone, South Africa, Kenya and Singapore; to mention but a few. He is happily married and blessed with children.
